IIT Kanpur researchers have developed a touch-sensitive or haptic smartwatch for the blind and the visually impaired that offers various features to help in day-to-day life. IIT Kanpur researchers have developed a novel touch-sensitive smartwatch which can be a boon for the visually impaired and blind persons. It offers several features such as the indication of health parameters, instant short-timer, hydration reminder etc. The watch has been developed at the National Centre for Flexible Electronics, IIT Kanpur by Prof. Siddhartha Panda, Department of Chemical Engineering, and Vishwaraj Srivastava.
